Trevethan Distillery Secures Major Investment

“Another success story for Cornwall as premium handcrafted spirit producer, Trevethan Distillery, has secured a major investment which will see its expansion in the UK and overseas, and further product development.
South East Cornwall based Trevethan Distillery, predominantly known for its multi award winning Trevethan Cornish Dry Gin, has announced it has received a major investment from the family owners of Cornwall’s Ince Castle Estate.
Trevethan Distillery was founded in 2015 and initially launched with Trevethan Cornish Dry Gin, which was resurrected from family a bathtub recipe dating back to 1929 by skilled chemist and distiller, John Hall. Today Trevethan has since gone on to become a multi award winning distillery which now has a growing portfolio of exceptional handcrafted spirits, always following the companies three simple rules: craftmanship, innovation and excellence.
The substantial investment will be used to strengthen the brand through marketing which in turn will drive volume growth in the UK and push exports. There are exciting plans afoot for new product development after dipping its toe into the dark spirits market last year after launching Trevethan Cask Aged Golden Rum. The investment will also create additional jobs in Cornwall and out of county by expanding its national sales teams.

Trevethan’s success has continued an upward journey since 2015 with its flagship Trevethan Cornish Dry Gin winning an award every single year, improving its score year on year at the prestigious International Wine & Spirits Competition (IWSC), an almost unheard-of achievement in the gin category. In 2021 they achieved the ultimate accolade, the IWSC’s ‘ UK Gin Producer of the Year’, cementing their reputation as one of the leading Gin distilleries in the World. Further endorsed, when Forbes magazine listed Trevethan Cornish Dry Gin as one of the ‘World’s Top 20 Gins’, with the company going on to receive major listings with premium online spirit retailers and buyers as well as a recent national listing with Waitrose & Partners at the end of 2022.
From their distillery in Saltash, Cornwall, the team are not only producing a range of world class spirits under the Trevethan brand, but they are also developing highly unique, super premium products for a range of British and International clients. They really are flying the flag of Cornwall.”
